Purity of gold alloys

The karat or carat represents unit of purity for gold alloys. Symbol for karat has written as K, or for carat as kt. Because of gold properties as metal, in many ways inside production processes in gold has been added other materials for easier manipulations with new alloy. This means that golden alloys can have different percentage of pure gold inside which on the end can determine the price of that new alloy.

24 karat of gold represents most wanted purity of gold to be precise it means that 24 karat gold has 99.9% purity inside. For 18 karat of gold we say that there is 18 parts of gold and 6 parts of another metal which forming alloy with gold inside.
